This track features 4 phone messages from members of the public and an interview with Jeanette, a National Trust volunteer at Avebury. Stories shared include those of:
- Edith Pratt of Prattshayes, nr Exmouth, who worked as a welfare officer in munitions factories during World War I, and later in the WRAF
- Lady Mary Northcliffe, who launched the Red Cross Pearl Appeal during World War I
- Catherine Mary Bomford of Malvern, Worcestershire who started the local branch of the Women’s Land Army and went on to become the area organiser of the Land Army in Wales
- An anonymous women from Wiltshire who made significant contributions to radar detection during World War II at Bletchley Park.
